It's not "Just YouTube" anymore

When YouTube was created 2 decades ago, it changed the way we create, consume, and engage with content. Fast forward to now, and YouTube, along with platforms like Twitch and social media, has created a new generation of celebrities that are now more popular than traditional mainstream celebrities, changing the landscape of pop culture.

Along with that, the internet has made it so that creators can tell their own stories and show them to literally everyone in the world for free. This new wave of storytellers has proved that people don't need a big studio backing them to create something special, they just need themselves. Hollywood and mainstream media have taken notice of this growing shift of internet creators, as they appear in commercials and late-night talk shows, and strike big Hollywood deals.

Internet creators are not "just YouTubers" anymore, they are celebrities, storytellers, filmmakers, and everything in between. That's the story I want to tell with this project. As someone who grew up on the internet and actively lived through this shift, I want more people to understand that content creation isn't just some hobby,

but a new way of connection.

Doing it for passion, not profit.

When YouTube was first created, being a YouTuber wasn't a viable job. The first generation of YouTubers created content simply because they wanted to.

Eventually, creators became too big to ignore.

As content creation grew, so did "the influencer." Creators became just as, if not more, popular than your traditional Hollywood actor or singer, and big brands wanted in.

The Big Screen is actually in your pocket.

The Internet changed the way media can be shared. Creators are creating an infinite library of film-level content that can be seen all on your phone. Now, they're looking to change a century-old industry.
